For today’s blog post, I am using speech recognition software called Dragon NaturallySpeaking. Using this program, I just talk normally into my microphone and the words magically appear in the editors box.
My goal with today’s post is to compose this whole entry without touching my keyboard. Looks to be going good so far.
After installing the software last night I had to read several pages of text so it could recognize my speech patterns. It also offered to look at documents and e-mails I had written to learn words that I commonly use.
I actually bought the software not for blogging in particular, but for composing other types of articles for my websites. It seemed like a good idea. If I could research topics and then simply talk about what I learned in my own words. Then this could be useful for composing mid-length articles quickly and without spelling errors.
Ha ha, this is funny. When I said “mid-length” in the previous paragraph, it typed “nude links” instead. “Mid-length” is a hard word to say with this. It takes me several attempts to pronounce it properly. I guess it needs a little more training or I need to learn better English.
Anyhow, Dragon NaturallySpeaking seems to be a good product. If you are interested in it, there are many sellers on eBay offering it for half the price you would find in the store.
This is the end of my blog post. I did it! Her array for speech recognition! I mean, her array….oh never mind.

The blogmos is buzzing today. Google released their own browser, Chrome. Besides being the only web browser named after a Toby Keith song, its got a super sweet simplified interface and performs better on my computer than Firefox. Pages are loading super quick.
Apparently this program manages memory differently than anything before it. If one of your tabs crashes, the rest will live on. I haven’t had a crash yet, but I learned that by
reading this geeky comic that Google published.
Chrome copied over my saved bookmarks and passwords from Firefox with ease, and I’m loving the experience so far. Check it out, it’s worth it.

Day one in the books and we already have our first reader question.
Harkster writes, “What is your favorite potato chip?”
Good question, sir. I was instinctively going to say Doritos, but quickly came to to the obvious realization that they do not contain potatoes at all.
After an hour or two of thoughtful reflection on the varieties of potato chips I have enjoyed over the years, I determined my favorite has been Tim’s Cascade Style Dill Pickle Flavored Potato Chips. Unfortunately when searching for a picture to post here, I discovered they no longer produce this flavor. Ohno!!!

That would explain why I can’t find them in the store anymore. Dang. Dang it. Dang. Anyone know of a suitable substitute for dill pickle chips? I already tried the ones from Lay’s. Not very good. I like my chips thick and flavorful and those were neither. Dang.
In light of this news, I guess I’d have to say Sweet Maui Onion Kettle Chips (also by the Tim’s brand) would be my current favorite.
By the way… this post officially disqualifies P6 from being a “1 post wonder“. Thanks, Hark!

This is the first post on P6. It is a lovely post, even though it doesn’t have much of a topic or sense of purpose. It is a fitting first post being that P6 is a blog about nothing and everything all at once. You might find insightful or useful information posted here some days, or mindless silliness at other times.
Do join the fun by subscribing to P6 using your favorite RSS reader or browser. Suggestions for topics are welcome, but may be ignored. Such is the life of a blog without purpose.
